Today I am appreciating my job and everything about it. For those of you who don't know, I sell mortgage software for a company in Dallas, Texas. I have been doing this for almost eight years now. It's not what I want to do for the rest of my life, but I really enjoy it.
I may not be the best salesperson in the world but I work on that every day. I listen to tapes and cd's, I attend classes, I read books and apply what I learn all in an effort to improve my selling skills.
My job has given me the opportunity to visit places throughout our country that I would never have thought to visit. I have met the most amazing people in all corners of our United States. It has also made it possible for my wife and I to visit a few places outside of this country and experience other cultures.
I appreciate my boss because he gives me guidance without micro-managing me. As long as I am productive and I am bringing in sales, he pretty much let's me do my own thing. I like that alot.
I appreciate the owner of our company because she really cares about her employees and her customers and she does what she can to make everyone happy. She runs a pretty tight ship and I have learned a lot from her just by being in the position I am in.
I appreciate her dad who founded the company because without the foresight and hard work that he put in at the beginning, we wouldn't be where we are today.
I appreciate all of the other employees as well. Without their support we wouldn't have the good reputation we have today, which would make my job infinitely more difficult.
Take a minute today to write down all the things you appreciate about your job. I know not everyone likes their job but surely you can find a few things to appreciate about it, if nothing more than it provides you with a regular paycheck.
If you really can't find anything about your job to appreciate then make a list of all the things you would like in a job and start looking for one that matches your wants and needs. You just might be surprised at how quickly it shows up.
Have an awesome day!
